Young Families and Young Singles Coordinator: Open Position
Fridley Covenant Church (6390 University Ave, Fridley MN 55432) seeks an enthusiastic, creative, God-led person to take on an important multi-role position for immediate hire. This is a salaried part-time position.
Purpose:
As Fridley Covenant Church adds new young families and individuals to its established population, the need for a dedicated person to coordinate activities and services aimed at the young adult population and their children has become increasingly clear. We seek a talented person who is willing to combine creativity and organizational skills with a heart for serving young people and young families and helping to grow a church in transition.
Young Families Coordinator Details:
The primary role for the open position is to act as the Young Families Coordinator. This vital role will include leading a small group for young adults, coordinating the schedule of nursery volunteers and Sunday school teachers, and actively seeking ways to bring more young families into the church. Young Families Coordinator is a new role in Fridley Covenant Church, so there is a great deal of flexibility and opportunity to exercise creativity in how to shape this ministry role. By “Young Families”, we essentially mean singles and couples in their 20s and 30s, and their children. The Young Families Coordinator will interface with an existing volunteer pool but will need to coordinate and schedule its activities and augment its numbers by recruiting new volunteers from the church body.

- A personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Creative and energetic with strong organizational and administrative skills
- Passion for connecting with new people in the community, for growing the church through inclusion of new attendees and members
- Willingness to jump into the life of Fridley Covenant Church and play an active role in building and strengthening intrapersonal relationships in the church
Scheduling details
- Approximately 7 hours/week
- Weekly staff meeting (currently Tuesday morning; time is flexible)
- Monthly worship commission meeting
- Meetings with nursery/Sunday school volunteers as needed
- Small group for young families weekly for 8 to 12 week programs
- Time off: four paid Sundays off per year, with at least 2 weeks advance notice of absence
- Participation at least once a month at the weekly Manna Market outreach ministry to interface with guests and with the many young adult volunteers from the church who participate in the Manna Market ministry
