Recent History
The Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church began an experiment in October of 2004. It was to be the first of several "revitalization projects." The agreement between Fridley Covenant Church, averaging 40 in attendance at the time, was to receive Conference financial aid and take on the pastor of the NWC's choosing. The NWC provided coaching and support.

The following sections are excerpts from Pastor Mark's report as it appears in the church's Annual Report, outlining some of the highlights of each year. Some names were left out for Internet privacy reasons.

Founding
Fridley Covenant Church (originally named Community Covenant Church) had its beginning when members of Salem Covenant Church in Minneapolis moved to Fridley and felt the need of a nearby Covenant church. On Sunday, May 15, 1955, the first Sunday School session and Morning Worship service were held in the old Hayes School, which is still standing on Mississippi St. in Fridley.
 
 
Church Building Programs
  • New building:
    • Ground breaking - May 6, 1956
    • First service - Thanksgiving Eve, November 21, 1956
    • Dedication - January 12, 1957
  • New education wing:
    • Ground breaking - June 18, 1967
    • Dedication - February 4, 1968.
  • During 1978, the sanctuary was enlarged.
  • Foyer addition/remodeling:
    • Ground breaking - May 21, 1989
